Thank you for your interest in serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Chisholm Leadership Academy (CLA). Serving on the board is a rewarding experience and an opportunity for personal and professional growth. The application package includes information on CLA’s mission, vision, and programming. The deadline for submitting an application for the 2021 term has been extended to Thursday, October 15 at 11:59 pm EST.
Completed applications should be in PDF form and submitted to the CLA Governance Committee via email: info@chisholmleadershipacademy.org.
Womxn who identify as Latina, Asian, Indigenous, LGBTQ+ and those residing in or near Columbus, Ga., Albany, Ga., Savannah, Ga., and Macon, Ga. are strongly encouraged to apply.

Oct. 19 - 30, 2020: Interviews with prospective candidates are held.
Nov. 24, 2020: The 2021 CLA Board of Directors will be announced.
January 2021: CLA hosts its 2021 board retreat.
CLA Advisory Board
The Chisholm Leadership Academy (CLA) Advisory Board provides the organization with critical guidance on strategic planning, program development, and fundraising and is comprised of a diverse group of experienced, passionate, and innovative leaders in business, media, academia, nonprofit management, and politics. What Are The Requirements for Advisory Board Members? Advisory board members are asked to participate in quarterly meetings and to support the organization as a volunteer and/or mentor to CLA Scholars.
When Does The Advisory Board Meet? The CLA advisory board meets quarterly in March, June, September, and December.
How Large Is The Advisory Board? The inaugural advisory board will be comprised of up to 15 members.
How Long Are Advisory Board Terms? Each advisory board member, including co-chairs, will serve a term of one year with a maximum of four years of service. Advisory board members will be appointed by the CLA board of directors.
How Do I Join CLA’s Advisory Board? Please submit a resume and a brief statement of interest of 300 words or less to info@chisholmleadershipacademy.org by 11:59 pm EST on Oct. 9, 2020. Individuals who apply and are not selected for CLA’s board of directors will automatically be considered for the advisory board.
Do I have to be a womxn or a womxn of color to serve on CLA’s Advisory Board? No, advisory board service is open to individuals from all racial and ethnic backgrounds who have a shared passion for mentoring young women, civic education, and diversifying the leadership pipeline.
Do I have to live in Georgia to serve on CLA’s Advisory Board? No, highly-qualified applicants living outside of Georgia are encouraged to apply.
